Sesame Tofu

Ingredients

  • 1/2 kl firm  tofu
  • 1/2 cup sesame seeds
  • 2 Tbs oil
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 4 Tbs soy sauce
  • 1 Tbs lemon juice
  • 1 Tbs of sugar
  • 1 garlic, crushed
  • 1/4 tsp finely grated ginger
  • coriander leaves to decorate
  • 1 red pepper cut into slices to decorate
  • 1 sprig of chopped chives garnish
  • 1 garlic chopped in slices fried to decorate

Preparation

  1. Cut the tofu into flat squares about 1/2 inch thick.
  2. On a flat plate put the sesame seeds and place the tofu squares on top of the sesame to completely cover them on both sides.
  3. In a frying pan, heat the oil slightly and then put the sesame-covered tofu to brown on each side until the sesame is slightly golden.
  4. In a small bowl mix sesame oil, sugar, lemon juice, soy sauce, crushed garlic and ginger.
  5. Pour this sauce over the tofu on a serving plate, and garnish with the cilantro, chili pepper, and fried garlic. Serve immediately.
